Overview

Fountain Tire is seeking a dedicated Credit Team Lead to be a key player in our dynamic Credit team based in our South Edmonton Corporate Head Office. 

 

The purpose of this role is to exercise judicious credit granting practices and maintain accurate records of security, mitigating Fountain Tire’s credit risk and decreasing Fountain Tire’s overdue account receivables and cost of carrying accounts receivable.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the leadership, development and work performance of direct reports, including completion of mid-year, annual reviews and the development of STIPS.
  • Assign requests and work assignments to maximize service levels by setting priorities, monitoring progress and resolving issues.
  • Track bad debt write-off requests received by the Credit Department, providing documentation to Credit Manager for approval and then process the necessary journal entries.
  • Complete reviews for high-risk credit decisions on new and existing customers.
  • Record and code payments from trustees of bankrupts, receivers and 3rd party collectors.
  • Respond to inquiries from internal and external customers.
  • Assist in all legal proceedings – third party assignments, liens, statements of claim, writs of enforcement, collecting on judgments.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations to Credit Manager on accounts causing concern of financial risk or beyond individual approval authority.
  • Complete monthly reporting as required.

What does it take to get on track?

  • Completion of a CCP designation; Accounting/Business degree preferred; minimum 5 years’ experience in the credit industry; a combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a leadership role
  • Working knowledge of accounts receivables, credit and collections.
  • Knowledge of Garage keepers' lien rights and requirements is imperative. 
  • Advanced skills in a computerized environment, including proficiency with MS Word & Excel.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills in order to effectively manage multiple priorities and competing demands within tight deadlines.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX would be considered a definite asset.
